Global Integrity Watch Launches New Nigeria Public Accountability Initiative

LONDON, UK — August 17, 2026

Global Integrity Watch (GIW), a London-based non-governmental organisation, has launched a new initiative to promote transparency, accountability and responsible management of public funds in Nigeria.

The initiative will focus on unresolved findings in Auditor-General reports, particularly cases involving financial non-compliance, weak internal controls, and failures by public institutions to implement audit recommendations.

GIW said it will use advanced AI-assisted research tools, official government records and information from whistleblowers to track public-interest issues across Nigerian government agencies.

The organisation said its objective is to support the Nigerian Government and strengthen public institutions, not to target individuals without evidence.

Speaking after GIW's executive meeting in London on August 17, Executive Director Comrade Abraham Temitayo Adewoye said:

“Our commitment to fighting corruption and promoting accountability is non-negotiable. We will follow the evidence, allow institutions to respond and ensure that credible public-interest concerns receive the attention they deserve.”

GIW also encouraged whistleblowers, journalists and concerned citizens to continue providing credible information and supporting documentation.

The organisation said it will distinguish between audit findings, allegations and facts before publishing any investigation.
